Dennis Shawhan Selected for Green Leadership

The City of Green has announced its 2026 Green Leadership Initiative Class, including Dennis Shawhan, Chaplain and Executive Director of Broken Chains Ministry.

The Green Leadership Initiative brings together a group of local business and community leaders who are dedicated to serving the community and the City of Green.

“Working with the City of Green in the ten years since Lydia’s Home opened has been a pleasure,” said Dennis Shawhan. “Having collaborated with the Mayor’s office, served as a member of the Green Opioid Task Force, and participated in local events, being part of the Green Leadership Initiative will allow me to gain greater insight into the needs and challenges facing the city and make positive contributions.”

Scheduled to take place over six weeks from March through May, the Green Leadership Initiative program welcomes a select group to explore social, economic, and environmental issues impacting the local community. The six-session program will address topics to stimulate a broader understanding of these issues and will provide participants with an opportunity to become more engaged in shaping the city’s future.
